Birchbox November 2012

I finally received my Birchbox for the month.  It came pretty late due to Hurricane Sandy and honestly, I think it was extended because they forgot about me.

Overall, this box was good-- I'm just a little bitter about the poor customer service.

Model Co. Fibre Lashxtend Lengthening Mascara The card included a tip to rotate the mascara wand to pick up the fibers.  This was a more "natural" look to my lashes, it did not help legthen my lashes much.  I love that there is a mirror on the mascara tube.

Stila all over shimmer liquid luminizer Loved this item! My favorite in the box! It is really shimmery as a highlighter.

Lulu Organics Lavender and Clary Sage Hair Powder  I have been wanting to try this product out since I really love dry shampoos but I have never used one that was a powder (only used the sprays).  I have really oily hair and I used it on a particularly diry hair day.  It worked pretty good, I would definitely use this in between days of not shampooing my hair.

Jouer mini rollerball Cornucopia I naturally do not gravitate towards floral scents but this fragrance oil was delightful when it soaked into my skin.  The mix of gardenia, jasmine and honeysuckle mixture is lovely and light.

Lifestyle extra: Soyjoy bar in cranberry I have tried these bars before and did not like them but I wanted to give it another try.  My first experience was right, these are gross.  There are SO many healthy snacks avaiable and these are definitely NOT one of them

At first, I didn't find these to be moisturizing but after adding the shimmery side, it was more hydrating.  I liked Stunner and Vixen unfortunately, Minx was too dark for me.

Overall, these products are pretty and really shimmery.

Review: Not Your Mother's Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair cream

Lovin' the smell of this frizz control hair cream! The coconut scent reminds me of summer days ;]  The ends of my hair are pretty split-end like and frizzy... but when I apply a dime sized amount on my hair when it's still damp, it works wonders!  The formula is pretty thick and a little goes a long way.  Most days I don't like to use any type of heated tool on my hair (blow dryer, hair straightener, curling iron, etc) so this cream is a great formula to keep the frizz & fly-aways down!

My prior experience with Not Your Mother's has been sub-par.  I have the "Clean Freak: Refreshing Dry shampoo and the scent is over powering, definitely something I would not purchase again.  Sometimes after I use it, I can still smell the scent lingering in the area that I used it... 45 minutes later!  But this cream has made me curious about the rest of their line.  I am SUPER interested in their "GIRL POWDER: Volumizing Hair powder" and the "Beach Babe: Texturizing Sea Salt Spray"

What do YOU think of the Not Your Mother's line of hair products?  What is your experience?  Any recommendations?

Review of the Glycolatic Skin Renewal Peel mask:  I used this on a particularly dirty-feeling kind of day.  The consistency is gooey and it has a nice clean, orange-like scent that is pretty relaxing.  It is a light sheer orange but applies clear on my face.  The packet was pretty generous one time use amount.  After applying generously on my face, there was still about a quarter left.  The directions state to apply to face and neck so I used the remaining amount and applied it generously to my neck and jawline for 10 minutes!  There were moments of a slight tingly-ness but nothing alarming.  While washing it off, I felt like a layer of dirty dead cells washed away and my skin is so soft and feels refreshed! Definitely LOVING this mask!
